James Suckling Raves Over Three Wines from Anthonij Rupert

In August 2017, James Suckling reviewed three wines from Anthonij Rupert:

2015 Anthonij Rupert Protea Chenin Blanc

Herbaceous notes of fennel mixed with fresh stone fruits. Fresh and balanced. Really pleasant texture. A bit waxy with good length. Medium body. Enjoy now. 91 Points.

2012 Anthonij Rupert Optima Franschhoeck

The nose is already quite developed , whereby lovely creme de cassis aromas are mingled in with hints of tobacco and leaves. Full-bodied and showing a core of still tangy ripe fruit. Very fine all around. Bordeaux blend. Drink now. 93 Points.

2010 Anthonij Rupert Cabernet Franc Franschhoeck

Very ripe berries, nutmeg and cinnamon. Well balanced with round texture, fine tannins, lemon zest and almost wet earth undertones. Full and generous with a lightly austere finish. Drink now or hold. 93 Points.
