Rust en Vrede Cab: ‘Overdelivering at Its Price Point for Several Vintages Now’

Owner Jean Engelbrecht and winemaker Coenie Snyman focus on red wines, in part because the vineyard site is warmer tan what’s typical in the cool Stellenbosch area. The vineyards feature a mix of granite and sandstone soils, and resulting wine is well-fruited but also racy. This Cabernet bottling has been overdelivering at its price point for several vintages now.
