With a score of 92 points, the 2013 Ernie Els Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the top-rated "red wine values" in the upcoming September 30, 2016, Wine Spectator.
The May 23 edition of Golfweek magazine is all about golf and wine, and Ernie Els’ Big Easy wines received great reviews – and a place on the cover!
Master Sommellier Randall Bertao of Los Altos Golf & Country Club in California tasted through the collections and offered these tasting notes:
On Ernie Els Big Easy White: “Very bright red apple fruit (think unoaked chardonnay) with mouth-watering acidity and a clean finish.”
On Ernie Els Big Easy Red: “There’s a lot going on with this wine. Spice and flesh from the syrah, structure from the cab and variety from the other grape contributors. Dark fruited with exotic spices and a savory flavor.”

The “Somm in the City” wine blog by sommelier, chef and food and wine pairing expert Sara Lehman has turned its sights on Father’s Day wines, and Ernie Els Big Easy Red and Big Easy White are among the selections.
They’re among several “Wines That Give Back”—a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the Big Easy Red and Big Easy White are going to Els for Autism, Ernie’s foundation that supports children on the autism spectrum and their families.

Wine Enthusiast looks at some newcomers to wine from the sports world, but doesn’t overlook a guy who has been there for a long time now: Ernie Els. From the May issue of the magazine:
Wine Spectator asked its editors to pick their favorite wines, with an eye to "values for every budget." In the $15 to $30 range, James Molesworth selected the Rust en Vrede Cabernet Sauvignon.
“A standout trio of drink-and-eat wineries begins with the 300-year-old estate, Rust en Vrede, a favorite of Nelson Mandela's."
